As part of the Adventist mission to reach the unreached people in our urban surroundings, the Sandton SDA established a Centre of Influence (“COI”) in line with the strategy of the General Conference. A Non- Profit Company was also registered under this name in 2022. The NPC has its own board of directors in order to be compliant with governance requirements.
In broad terms, the UCOI Objectives are;
- To provide a sustainable and holistic ministry in urban areas around us.
- To enhance accessibility and support to education, basic health care, and entrepreneurial development.
- To assist with connecting to people in our community, show them sympathy, and minister to their needs and hopefully to lead them to Jesus.
The current strategic areas of focus are:
- Health and Wellness
- Business and Entrepreneurship
- Education and Skills Development:
The CoI also works in collaboration with the Adventist Community Services (ACS) department in the Church.
All the pillars above have short, medium & long term plans for sustainable & revenue-generating initiatives.
